Big news for LYP... We are now the monthly resident band for Chillin' Productions who hosts the biggest monthly fashion event in SF at 111 Minna and select shows at Mezzanine. Put on your best dress (or pants, preferably tight) and come make the scene at the next show on April 5th.

2.28.08
Thank you to those who made it out to Cafe du Nord on the 17th! We had a helluva good time and really enjoyed seeing you. Thanks to our new friends Cold Hot Crash and Mighty Six-Ninety for playing their asses off and helping make the night a success.

This weekend is another great event to come and behold... Fashion, Art and music under one roof. Our dear friend, the alluring Irene' Hernandez-Feiks of Chillin' Productions, has put together a monthly fashion event that's sure to make all the fashionistas wet their pants. I think we might dress up for this one.

01.14.08
Greetings from the secret LYP recording bunker, hidden deep in picturesque Presidio National Park. At this time of night you'll only find the occasional skunk, ghosts of military generals, and your friendly neighborhood rock band roaming the streets in these here parts. And that's just the way we like it. Except for the skunks. Not so much the skunks.

12.13.07
Recovering from colds, bronchitis, holed up in our newly operational recording studio, working on new tracks. New record next year. Stay tuned.

10.24.07
The birthday party at 111 Minna was off the shzang. We celebrated Cris' eternal youth as well as that of our good friend Irene from Chillin Productions. Thanks to all who made it out.

10.10.07
Shonna took some photos of us, and the street scene, at Folsom and Castro street fairs

10.01.07
We got a nice little write-up in the SF Chronicle ...

07.18.07
The Viper Room, La Velvet Margarita Cantina, Tiny's, LAX (no we didn't see Nicole Richie but we did see equally cheesy hos) and not to mention the club we played, Club Cabana ... a tour hosted by the Dapper Michael Sparkle and his beautiful partner in crime, DJ Tatiana.

Did I mention we ended up partying at a Castle in the Hollywood hills where a scene of Spinal Tap was shot! Jesus Christ! I couldn't get Chris Stevens to stop reciting lines from the film... it was quite embarassing, really.

Next time, you're all invited...

06.28.07
A hearty thank-you to everyone who came to Rasputin in Berkeley, bought records, and hung out with us. Playing in daylight is always a bit uncomfortable for us vampires, but the stage sound was great. Seng shot some cool photos

06.04.07
Pop Roxx, well, roxxxed. Video here, photos by 200Paul here, and by John Adams here

05.26.07
Join us, Richie Panic, Sleazemore, Aaron Axelson, Omar, Adrian from Club Bootie, Bazil from Blackmail and some very naughty Go-Go dancers for an evening of evilness. Hosted by the dark lord himself, Michael Sparkle

04.21.07
Thanks to everyone who came to our CD release at Cafe du Nord ... it was a packed house! Photos by Paul Turner here.

02.19.07
"Simple Devices" hits stores on April 10, and we're proud to announce a joint CD release on April 12 with Brad Brooks and Etienne de Rocher and DJ support by the Bastard Prince (The Lovemakers), dMap! (Every Move a Picture) and Fletcher (Club I.D.) at the Cafe du Nord, one of SF's finest venues.

01.31.07
Thanks to all you people, this website has generated a quarter of a million hits in the last year. That's right, 250K. Keep on clicking.

01.5.07
We are offering a pre-release of our new full-length record, "Simple Devices" on iTunes.com. If you already have iTunes installed, go here to check out free snippets of the songs:

You can buy all 9 songs for only $8.91. If that's not a deal, I don't know what is.

You can download free iTunes software here

The street date of our new record is April 10, 2007. Don't be caught hangin' around.

12.5.06
We mastered the new record the day before Thanksgiving, and it sounds excellent. Fat, warm, punchy ... all those big dumb descriptors. We're currently working on the artwork, and are very close to signing a national distribution deal. More on that later... Happy Shopping Day.

11.21.06
"Simple Devices", our first full-length album, will be released spring 2007 -- containing the tracks:

-- C'mon
-- Water Music (for People Who Can't Swim)
-- For Your Safety and the Safety of Others
-- Automata
-- Television
-- Twilight ... and What's to Come
-- Answers to Common Questions
-- Building a Better You
-- All My Connections

The versions of the songs that are on our MySpace right now are demo versions, not the real thing ... but we're giving them away, what do you expect?

The tracks were recorded live over two days at Bayview Studios with Karl Derfler engineering. Keyboards, backing vocals, kazoo, and bird noises are being added as I write this. Boone Spooner from Madelia is almost done mixing the thing.

08.22.06
Thanks to all who came out to the International Pop Overthrow show and the SF Bicycle Messenger Association benefit show at the Eagle Tavern. We helped earn over $300 for those scruffy folks. Didn't win anything in the darn raffle, though.

07.17.06
We're done with the basic tracking for our new record! We were working at Bayview Studios in Richmond with Karl Derfler at the board, playing live as a band (as opposed to endless overdubs, the usual method), and laying down 9 songs in 2 days. Recording fueled by Corona and BBQ ribs. Details and photos here.

06.03.06
We were just interviewed on the Tower Music podcast network, along with Rykarda Parasol. Hear previews of our new songs, and witty interview banter.

05.10.06
Hearty thanks to the following radio stations who've seen fit to spin our record ...

KSCU 103.3 FM -- Santa Clara, CA
WIOJ 1010 AM -- Jacksonville, FL
KSWI 95.7 FM -- Atlantic, IA

And don't forget the podcasts ... Insomnia Radio, among others, has been nice enough to spin us ... we're doing a Tower Records podcast on May 31 (more info later).

04.28.06
The band is doing pre-production rehearsals for the new record ... recording to be done in May ... quick and dirty, as always, but this time with a secret weapon at the console.

04.12.06
More new press ... a review in Zero Magazine.

10.01.05
It's always nice to come home, especially when you were in the land of wildfires and ashes were dropping out of the skies like little gray butterflies. Getting a record review from the Owl Mag is even nicer.

09.14.05
If you missed the iMusicast show click here to check out some photos. We'd like to send out extra special thanks to the ladies in the front row... you make rockin fun!

Yes, our EP "This City and All of the Cities" is out, and it's available at Streetlight Records (San Francisco) and Amoeba Records (San Francisco and Berkeley), and online.

08.19.05
It's been 6 days and 11 hours since the intense sound pressure levels of the Rickshaw Stop's finely tuned amplification system carried the glorious voice of His Joelness, announcing Little Yellow Perfect and the release of their long awaited EP, "This City and All of the Cites." From a collection of audience member accounts we've pieced together a paraphrased Joelness quote comparing our music to "a hot girl dripping wet from a shower..." Of course, that's the paraphrase and not a confirmed quote.

If you want to get a taste of what you missed, check out our extra special CD Release Party Photo Page.

We're the San Francisco Chronicle's download of the week! Check out what Bill Picture said about Little Yellow Perfect in today's pink pages:

San Francisco Chronicle Datebook: Sunday, August 7, 2005

"Download of the week: Little Yellow Perfect -- 'Fireflies.'
Bay Area dance-rock band Little Yellow Perfect employs the same heady mix of grit and glitter as the Killers and Queens of the Stone Age to get indie types going. Catch the group live Friday at the Club ID (Rickshaw Stop), the best thing to happen to Friday nights since Zima, the 'clear malt beverage.' Like you've never tried it! Go to
www.myspace.com/littleyellowperfect"

06.20.05
Big news in the land of distribution! Little Yellow Perfect has recently been picked up by Awarestore.com -- get it here.

05.22.05
San Francisco station Live105 played "Fireflies" on Soundcheck tonight. Let's hear it for Aaron Axelsen and a radio station that dares to play bands that aren't on any corporate playlist. If you heard us, it wouldn't hurt to call 478-LIVE and let them know you liked it.

05.17.05
Take a peek at what Los Angeles tastemakers Sushi High are saying about us.

04.22.05

We have *new* MP3s up at our MySpace.com site. Come be an internet hipster and post comments on our blogs.
